I was Born in Urmston , Manchester, from where I pursued a career in Mechanical Engineering and the Packaging Industry, on retiring at 65, I purchased my first Guitar and proceeded to practice and take lessons, I had never played an instrument before, so this was a challenge that I was looking forward to, I was getting on quite well, and joined the "Bluegrass Club" at the British Legion in Abergele, my big break came when I was "Headhunted" by Jim Earl and Glyn Jones, and we formed a small group, we did not give ourselves a name at the time, the "Bluegrass Club" moved on to the Llandulas British Legion where Ed Thompson and Peter Chadwick joined us, both playing Guitar's, after a while Vincent Mehlin joined us making six of us in the Band, by this time we had taken the name of the "Soggy Bottom Boys", (more of that on our "History Page" soon) we were now 2 Banjo's and 4 Guitar's.
Apart from music I have many other Hobbies, which include Golf, Fishing, Caravanning and of course the lovely Sheila, we now live in Glan Conwy where we are visited regularly , by Son's, Daughters and Grandchildren
